Gramsci's education as a linguistic in the Turin years is deemed important, but it also suggested that the linguistic concepts were later elaborated from both a political and theoretical viewpoint, resulting in more general issues concerning the «intellectual and moral» reform, where language will play a decisive role. In a sense, revolution is expected to determine a particular unification of the society, both linguistic and cultural. In this framework, the author tries to shed light on Gramsci's discussion of Vailati's concept of language, including topics such as scientific language and translation., table_contents=, titolo_collana=, collocazione=, relazioni_titolo_collegato=[Il Cannocchiale], relazioni_identificativo=[IT-GRAMSCI-BIB00001-0019380], relazioni_tipo_relazione=[padre], relazioni_numero_volume=[], relazioni_numero_issue=[], relazioni_start=[163], relazioni_end=[193], relazioni_pagine=[], relazioni_forma_visualizzata=[], relazioni_forma_normalizzata=[], relazioni_tipo_data=[], relazioni_luogo=[], relazioni_editore=[], relazioni_paese=[IT], soggettivoc=[Senso Comune, Traduzione, Lingua (e Linguistica)], subjectvoc=[Common sense, Translations, Language (including Linguistics)], note_riservate=, source=, recordInfo=francescogiasi@libero.it, identifier=IT-GRAMSCI-BIB00001-0019385, recordOrigin=MODS.2CB336A9E0EA991, condizioni_accesso=public, dateIssued=}]

The concepts of Gramsci offer a critical framework for the scholars who want to draw up a new social struggle and socialism perspective. The question of whether the political party as the organisation of social transformation leaves its place to the social movements that are called as postmodern prince is one of the ongoing debate of this issue. The continuity of the war of position in the intellectual and moral transformation foreseen by Gramsci by embracing the civil society can be meaningful for understanding the struggles that the new social movements run These movements, especially on globalization issue, make efforts to create a new common sense and a perception of the world against established hegemony. Evolution of these efforts to a revolutionary process depends on the augmentation of the areas of cooperation of the movements. This article examines how Gramsci’s thinking and especially the notion of common sense corresponds to the social movements because the point of view based on a pluralist interpretation of Gramsci’s thoughts overlaps with the initiations of the social movements especially in the counter globalization process.

sudamericana, interesa reflexionar críticamente sobre la relación
entre sentido común y ética estatal. A estos efectos, la obra de Antonio
Gramsci adquiere singular relevancia.
Confronted with the recent changes in South American politics,
this article aims at providing a critical reflection upon the relation between
state and common sense. To this effect the work of Antonio Gramsci gains
particular relevance. In fact, the intellectual and moral reform promoted
by Gramsci supposes the critic of common sense. This critic consists not of a
massive refusal, but of a dialectical work, aimed at overcoming the tensions
inherent to the phenomenon. This article identifies these tensions with three
distinguishable but nonetheless articulated problems: the disarrangement of
theory and practice, the dissociation of the high and the low, and the confusion
of the old and the new. This analytical approach to the Gramscian conception
of common sense allows to clarify the task of an intellectual and moral reform
aimed at providing the ethical foundation of the state. On this basis, the article
ends with some reflections on the use of the notions of "populism" and of the
"national-popular" in current South American public debate., table_contents=, titolo_collana=, collocazione=, relazioni_titolo_collegato=[Las Torres de Lucca, Gramsci, la democracia entre América Latina y Europa], relazioni_identificativo=[, IT-GRAMSCI-BIB00001-0020995], relazioni_tipo_relazione=[padre, padre], relazioni_numero_volume=[, ], relazioni_numero_issue=[, ], relazioni_start=[, ], relazioni_end=[, ], relazioni_pagine=[, ], relazioni_forma_visualizzata=[, ], relazioni_forma_normalizzata=[, ], relazioni_tipo_data=[, ], relazioni_luogo=[, ], relazioni_editore=[, ], relazioni_paese=[, ], soggettivoc=[Senso Comune, Populismo], subjectvoc=[Common sense, populism], note_riservate=, source=, recordInfo=, identifier=IT-GRAMSCI-BIB00001-0020997, recordOrigin=, condizioni_accesso=, dateIssued=}]
