The article aims to look into the reasons for the dissemination of the Gramsci thought in the contemporany world. It criticizes the market globalization ideology, when it announces the end of the functions of tha national State and the ascendancy of civil society and economic powers. The article identifies such na ideology in some interpretations of gramsci's writings, in which some authors contribute to Gramsci a devaluation of the importance of the state in favor of a political theory of civil society. It highlights the risks involved in the contemporany left-wing political culture underestimating the role of politics and the State in favor of a strong valorization of the civil society category (from http://www.faced.ufjf.br/).
